Freshman Year - Fall 2014
I intend to be a computer engineer endowed with a minor in Mathematics. Two of my passions are Mathematics and computers. I am interested in all the logic behind Math and the complexity of computers. I have always wanted to know how a machine can display images using electrical signals. All that curiosity pushed me to come to Virginia Tech, one of the best engineering schools of the United States.
After a bachelor in Computer Engineering, I intend to go to Graduate School to obtain a Master’s degree, and then the PHD before starting to work. During these years of studies, one of my goals will be to have internships or a co-op. Besides academics, most of the time, I play basketball. |
Four cultures are part of me. I am from Cote-d’Ivoire, I speak French, I was in a French system in Tunisia where I lived eleven years and I am now speaking English every day in one of the best engineering school of the United States . I try to use these four cultures I grew up within my everyday life by analyzing things in different ways.
My activities, interests and cultural background influence my life; especially as an engineering student and a future accredited specialized engineer. Everything that happens in the present has an impact on the future. So I believe that I will impact engineering, with a rigorous work and I hope, inventions. |
One of the projects I achieved and am proud of is a infrared stylus for an interactive board. As a team of three members, I built this stylus during the end of fall of 2012 and the beginning of spring 2013. We used recycle material to build the stylus, and an infrared LED. It uses an AA battery and functions with a Wii remote control, a video projector, a white board and different software.
